7-year-old JJ is Maddie Paolero's second service dog from Canine Companions. Besides his love and devotion, his skills include retrieving items, opening and closing doors and drawers, and flipping light switches.

Seeing the difference a service dog makes in Maddie's life, her mom, Beth became a volunteer puppy raiser for Canine Companions. Sutton, her current puppy in the program, will be a year old in April.
